Pots de Crème

SUNDAY DESSERT #75: Pots de Crème (au Chocolat)

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: France 🇫🇷

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Easy

INSPIRATION: According to my husband, a dessert can only be classified as exceptional if it meets the following standard(s): chocolate flavored and/or moist. Though I highly disagree with his opinion, it is undeniable that Pots de Crème is perfect to make for him since it meets both criteria. This one is for you, Jared. 😘 Happy Father's Day!

RECEPTION/COMMENTARY: Pots de Crème (pronounced "poh-deh-crehm") translates to "Pots of Cream" because of the little porcelain ramekins they are served in. (Side note: I originally bought these specific ramekins for my experimentation with soufflé. For those of you that know my adventure with that whole shenanigan, you can understand when I say that I had some serious anxiety when I pulled those ramekins out again. I pretended I was just going to make good ol' Crème Brûlée and felt okay again. 😅)

This is a great dessert to make with kids and/or beginner bakers. It's incredibly easy! Don't be fooled though. Ease of creation does not mean a sacrifice in taste. It is scrumptious! Thicker than a mousse and creamier than a chocolate pudding, pot de crème is where it's at! 10/10! I DO agree with Jared on this one. 😉

WOULD I MAKE IT AGAIN? Ouí! It's too easy and too delicious to not make again!
